The Shangri-La Hotel Dubai is aesthetically enchanting, the staff impressive beyond belief and the facilities among the best I’ve ever experienced.
Dubai is known for its opulence and indulgent attitude and the Shangri-La exudes extravagance and elegance.
The floor-to-ceiling windows of my deluxe suite provide me with unparalleled views of Sheikh Zayed Road and the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.
The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city and is easily accessed via public transport, group shuttles and taxis.
The airport is a short 15-minute drive down the expressway and the world’s largest shopping centre, the Dubai Mall, conveniently located next door to the Burj Khalifa is just 8 minutes away.
Take the lift to the fourth floor and don’t forget your bathers and bikinis; relax poolside and enjoy cocktails and canapés or dive in and order a drink from the swim-up bar.
Quality service is so important to the staff at the Shangri-La and it certainly reflects in the customers overall experience.
Every morning I was delivered the daily newspaper, free of charge, without request. Once I ventured downstairs to enjoy the sumptuous breakfast spread, friendly staff greeted me with smiles and remembered my previous orders, making life that much simpler.
All rooms within the hotel are spacious and incredibly comfortable. From the complimentary slippers and robe, to the rain showerhead and sweet-smelling toiletries, guests are lavishly looked after.
The hotel is fitted with excellent business and meetings facilities, providing secretarial and translation services, private meeting rooms and boardrooms, ticketing and travel assistance accommodating the most discerning of guests.
When it’s time to dine, the Shangri-La caters correctly. Five beautifully decorated restaurants are located within the hotel, with cuisines ranging from traditional Chinese and Moroccan to modern Vietnamese and a stunning seafood bistro.
The Spa at Shangri-La is a world of its own, steeped in tranquillity and serenity. Create an individual wellness package to suit your needs, and then lay back as the trained staff use French techniques and scented oils to wipe away the difficulties of the day.
Sunsets are the epitome of a relaxing holiday and Dubai certainly doesn’t disappoint. Collect the camera, clutch a cocktail and enjoy the spectacular views panning out over the glistening Arabian Sea from the iKandy Ultralounge.
A stay at the Shangri-La Dubai will certainly be a memorable experience and one you’ll cherish long after the camel rides, desert safaris and delightful dinners are a distant recollection. Do yourself a favour and book your next visit to the UAE at the Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai.
